Vithanco for Obsidian

Write a diagram as text in your note; read it as a picture. A fenced block tagged vgl is replaced with the rendered diagram in reading view.

Install

Settings → Community Plugins → Browse → Vithanco, then install and enable.

Getting started

The command palette has two entries to save you a trip to the documentation:

  • Vithanco: Open VGL syntax guide
  • Vithanco: Insert IBIS example

The same links live in the plugin's settings tab, under Settings → Community Plugins → Vithanco.

Why text

The diagram stays plain text inside your note. It diffs, it reviews, it syncs, and it survives every tool you will use after this one — including Vithanco itself. Nothing is stored in a format only one application can read.

The engine runs inside the plugin as WebAssembly, so nothing is sent anywhere and it works offline. Obsidian's desktop app is required.
